印度一輛載有43名印度籍朝聖者的巴士，於當地時間23日在尼泊爾境內從旅遊城市波卡拉（Pokhara）前往首都加德滿都（Kathmandu）的途中，不幸墜入馬沙陽蒂河（Marshyangdi River），導致27人死亡、16人受傷。

綜合《路透社》報導，該輛朝聖巴士來自印度北方邦，載有41名乘客、2名工作人員，乘客原本計劃進行跨境朝聖活動，並預計於28日回國；然而，當巴士行至尼泊爾境內時，由於當地連日暴雨導致河水暴漲，巴士失控墜入河中，車頂瞬間被沖走，造成車上超過半數乘客不幸罹難。

事故發生後，當地軍警立即展開救援行動，利用金屬梯子和繩索將傷者和遇難者從河中救出；救援隊成功救出22人，但其中12人傷勢嚴重，超過6人在醫院搶救無效死亡。

目前，印度北方邦政府已派出官員前往尼泊爾協助處理救援事宜，傷者均已被送往加德滿都的醫院接受治療，詳細案情正在調查釐清中。
